Family records that have been preserved are often misleading or inaccurate. Many historical records contain illegible or difficult to read handwriting. Records often contain multiple variations of surname spellings and a variety of errors this is often due to the fact that as you go back further in time many people could not read or write and relied on the transcribers to spell their names for them.

Even some official and authoritative electronic databases often contain errors where the transcriptions of original texts are incorrect. Even Census records contain inaccuracies due to the transcribers and sometimes because our ancestors were not quite telling the truth or were misunderstood by the transcribers, however they are a rich source of information. For this reason, every genealogical research project is vulnerable to the occasional inaccuracy.

We make every reasonable effort to verify the findings of our research from the original documents, however while the quality of our own research is of a high standard, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the findings where evidence is unreliable or contradictory.

Due to the uncertain nature of the available surviving records, the outcome of any genealogical or historical research project cannot be guaranteed. Our fees cover research, reporting and analysis time and not the outcome of the effort. Please be aware that our professional fees are not refundable. Package fees may be subject to partial reimbursement for example if we hit a brick wall at Generation 7 and you have ordered a package to Generation 10.

Any reimbursements will be subject to negotiation and will be dependent on how much research time has already been allocated to your family history project.

All charts, History Book/s or Photo book/s to go with your package or ordered as additional items will be dispatched to no later than 21 days after the agreed completion date of the family research project.

DNA Testing products should be delivered to you within 7 days from date of order.

Package Time limitations

Our Package fees cover research, reporting and analysis and not the outcome of the effort. Please be aware that a Period limit has been set for each package ordered starting from the date of our acceptance to facilitate family History research on your behalf.

Should you wish us to continue researching for you after our quoted completion date there will be an additional cost. Please note that these are the maximum periods some projects may complete earlier.

We are sorry but we do not provide:

One off Certificate ordering or delivery services.
Searches for Missing Persons or relatives. If you need assistance with this please contact the Police or the Salvation Army who have a special unit dealing with missing persons.

Living person’s personal information without their express permission.
We reserve the right not to accept the research requested and in this case your payment will be refunded in full.
Please also note that if considerable research outside the United Kingdom and sometimes within the United Kingdom Third Parties may be employed to do the research on our behalf. We will Endeavour to ensure that these researchers are reputable and that any research is handled in a confidential manner.
Family Shield or Coat of Arms (Heraldry) with your tree unless we find that you happen to be entitled to one. Should you wish to obtain your own personal Coat of Arms we are happy to assist you with this at an additional cost. Please contact us directly for a quotation.
